How to Talk to Women

By Don Diebel This week I want to offer the following tips on how to talk to women: Discover the Big Events in Her Life One sure-fire way to keep a conversation rolling is to discover the big events in her life - the things that are meaningful to her, and which she is anxious to talk about. I call such areas of interest “hot buttons.” A hot button is a subject that really interests you and her and that you can talk about for an extended period of time. A hot button can be a lifelong interest, a passing fancy, or a current fascination - whatever turns you on!” Hot buttons can be work, a new job, a hobby, a career goal, an upcoming trip, a sporting activity, new movies playing at the theatre, music, going to concerts, whatever. Finding Her Hot Buttons In conversations with new women you meet, try to find their hot buttons as soon as you can. These strong interests are extremely fertile areas for sustained conversations, particularly if you discover that you share some strong interests. To find her hot buttons, fish around subject areas with ritual questions. When you receive an unusually enthusiastic response, chances are you’ve hit on a particular interest. Pursue the subject by showing some interest in it. This article written by Don Diebel (Americas #1 Singles Expert). Hollywood Mayhem Sends Muddled Message to Muslims

By Michael Bresciani I sat in a Missionary Alliance Church one Sunday morning and watched a video message about the work of missionaries in Iraq. With the mournful and distant sound of eastern chanting in the background the commentator described the work of what was up to recently the largest missionary effort in all of Iraq. It is hard to say how long such missionary endeavor will be able to survive in that region because as of early in 2006 there has been a mass exodus of Christians. Both death squads and the militia have brazenly targeted and viciously attacked Christian groups with greater frequency than at any time since the Iraq war began. Even many of the Eastern Orthodox which is indigenous to the region are seeking refuge in other countries in the middle east. News agencies are now reporting that up to forty percent of the refugees leaving Iraq are Christians. On the positive side, the missionaries said that because the Muslim religion centers so much on death that Muslims do respond favorably when they see that the Christians are genuinely loving, and that there is something noticeably different about them. One Muslim man when interviewed said When we hear the music of your life and it sounds good, then we might ask about the words to the song. On the negative side one unknown Iraqi man said something that would cut anyone to the heart. He said that it wasnt the news broadcasts that Muslims see that give them their opinions about America. He said it was the regular programming from the west that had the biggest influence on how they see us. Muslims he said, see America as a Christian nation and when they see the sex, violence, and immorality that are presented in the media like a giant circus of slop they turn away in disgust and reaffirm to themselves that if this is what Christianity is they dont want it. It is nearly impossible to explain to Muslims who are all guided by the same principles as derived from their Koran that America is a culturally diverse nation and not everyone holds Christian values. They are content to believe that when it comes to America and the west in general that, what you see is what you get. We have all heard the rants of Irans Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and we have watched the Hezbollah indiscriminately lob rockets at our allies in the Middle East, but this unknown, un-named Muslim man laid the most serious indictment upon America that we may ever hear. He specifically named Hollywood in his statement. While Americans are still debating and calling for studies about the ramifications of sex, violence and materialism on our children from the media, Muslims have already made up their minds. Without lending any credence to the sayings of Christ they are nevertheless using the truth found in them, specifically when Jesus said Ye shall know them by their fruits. (Mt 7:16) As good broadcasting codes are sent off to antiquity, movie ratings become meaningless and American parents become mere nannies who pick up after the X-Box and Nintendo generation, who can make Hollywood listen? Who can make Hollywood see? Sadly the answer to the question is understood. Even sadder is the fact that people around the world, enemy and friend see all to well. Hollywood may be having its day as it leads our collective consciousness into the night but they will have as the famous preacher Dr. R. G. Lee said, a payday someday. Rev Bresciani is the author of two Christian books one that is entirely on the second coming of Christ. He is a contributing columnist for several online news and commentary sites. His articles are read throughout the world. Lawn Care Solutions - Inorganic Fences

By Terry Blackburn Inorganic fencing is just as easy to maintain as organic fencing, but can be more dramatic and offer instant privacy. Inorganic fencing includes: wooden fencing (organic material, inorganic feel), stone fencing, brick fencing, and chain link fencing. There are plastic fences out there, but they arent usually used by those who want an elegant lawn. Wooden fencing includes picket fences, tall flat topped fences, or short clapboard fences. These styles are country-like in appearance and can be bought in pre-made sections. While these fences can offer instant privacy, they may be difficult to maintain as they will require yearly maintenance including paint or stain, water protectant clear coat, and replacing pieces that may fall off or break during the winter season. But wooden fencing can give your lawn charm, and if this is your purpose for a fence, then a little extra work wont harm you. Stone fencing is usually lower than other forms of fencing and is more for decorative purposes than for noise reduction. You can add color and establish your lawns parameters with a stone fence. During the year, you will have to weed around the stone fence in order to keep it clean and you may need to have section of it repaired every few years depending on how the weather is. Other than that, stone fences are low-maintenance and attractive. Brick fencing will give your lawn a garden-like feel that will keep nosey neighbors out while providing additional privacy as well. This type of fencing should be installed by professional brick layers who will be able to guarantee a straight fence. There are few drawbacks to a solid brick fence. Cost is one of them and weeding around the fence is another. Since keeping a brick clean is very important because its clean lines, you will have to make sure the area is weed-free and clean at all times. Good old chain-link fencing. Its durable, inexpensive, and will give your lawn the lived-in look. No, seriously, this type of fencing is not recommended for those who want to show their lawns off to the neighbors. But if you have dogs or small children, you may want to consider this type of fencing at least until your children are old enough to know not to leave the yard. Many people use chain-link fencing in their backyards and choose another type of fencing for the front. As you can see, you have many options to choose from when closing off your lawn and giving yourself more privacy. Terry Blackburn. The Pleasure In Hearing Audio Books

By Veronica ODea Do you enjoy reading books? I certainly do and have loved doing so since I was little more than a toddler. These days, however, finding the time to enjoy my hobby has been increasingly difficult. You can probably identify with me, in that our lives are so frenetic, that the luxury of sitting down to read a good yarn has all but disappeared. Recently I discovered audio books and what a difference these books have made to my day. I am currently listening to a self help motivational book whenever I am driving the car, even if I’m just off to the local store to get a few supplies. When I have longer waiting time I use my mp3 player. onto which I have downloaded some superb books. The other day I needed to go to the doctor. I knew I was in for a long wait as at that surgery they are always behind with appointments. I took my mp3 player with me and began listening to “100 PROMISES TO MY BABY” by Mallika Chopra, wife of the renowned Dr Deepak Chopra. What an inspiring experience this book is. Here’s a little quotation from it. I promise to love you with no conditions. I promise to try to teach you through example, not words. I promise to help you develop a love for your culture and heritage. I promise to show you that there are infinite possibilities in every moment. I promise to help you see and develop your unique talents. 100 Promises to My Baby is a gift - a covenant with her child that reflected her own deepening awareness of the sacred responsibilities of parenthood. Here the author shares the vows she made to help her child grow up feeling cherished and secure, look at the world with wonder and curiosity, and learn spiritual values that would enrich her own life and contribute to making the world a better place. This audio will inspire listeners to think about their own lives, values, and beliefs, and what they would like to pass on to their children. Believe me, it certainly does that, because the promises she makes to her baby are promises that we can all make to everyone in our lives. I am finding audio books to be a way to stimulate my thinking, and to take my mind of petty problems and issues. I really think I am becoming a better person from getting intellectual and imagination stimulation from hearing these books. The site I use to download these books is www.myfavouriteaudiobooks.com. They have a 15% discount going this month. I know there is a book there just for you. I’m not psychic…it’s just that there are about 7000 titles to choose from so anyone would have to be impossible to please to not find one they like. Go there now and find the special audio book that is perfect for you. Veronica ODea lives in South Australia. Fashion - Why Are Fashion Freaks Walking Human Oddities

By Kacy Carr Why is it - that trendy fashion freaks are labelled as such? .Well let me tell you a little secret in the way of a - wake up call. What we need to do at this stage is first decipher what the word freak means. There can be many different renditions of the word - but if we are talking fashion then that is a horse of a different colour as the saying goes. If you have been called a freak at some stage in your life then the person on the end of the abusive tongue may see you as a sort of human oddity. The word can also denote an image of unusual or deformed vision. Fashion is a serious business where we all like and love to keep up with the latest trend but however in saying that, you need to sit back and ask yourself - are you going over your budget or are you next in line for an onslaught of abusive remarks all because you are following the fashion traits of today. Listen up guys and gals, how can any one fashion designer dress every individual on the planet of every different shape and size and still get it right? So there you have it in black and white - not everyone will be ideally suited to the platform shoe, denim dungarees or the up the bum thong that is in fashion - could this be the answer to why a person is called a fashion freak. Another matter you have to address is why you dress up in the latest fashion creations, is it for you or for others. Regardless of what is said a great many people will still choose to go on wearing the fresh new designs that grace the rails of our fashion boutiques - and rightly so - on this I agree, but only if that particular design is suitable and able to take that inner beauty from within, so that you can inject that warm beauty to glow on the outside while wearing the in thing (fashion garment). Listen up ladies and gents if you want to make an impression by wearing garments as such then get it right. There are some folk than can pull off wearing any outfit even if it appears that it was purely designed for Coco the clown - but unfortunately if you are one of those people that will evidently portray the look of a clown regardless of what you do to alter it - in the way of adding accessories, then do not fret. Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder so let the beholder be you when making decisions on what you feel will look right as well as comfortable.. Decisions made to put the latest designs into the high street boutiques - were those made by that of clowns them self. Key To Success

By Sharon White There is a growing trend across Europe for university students to combine their courses with one of the European foreign languages. Among most popular choices are Spanish, German and Italian. Students are realizing that mastery of languages is a key to improving their career prospects, cross-border travel and better communication with fellow Europeans. Erasmus representative Anthony Smallwood says: The increase in the number of students wishing to study languages is apparent in the rise in Lingua and Erasmus grants currently in demand. In 1990-1991 Linguas first year of operation, 1,867 network students received Lingua Student mobility grants. There are now 8,847. a similar number of students have received a grant for Erasmus. More universities are offering courses with modern European Languages as a minor, says Smallwood. The upward trend is due in part to students realizing the importance of cross-cultural exchanges and the growing need to be able to communicate in a number of different languages. Johanna Wilson, a Scottish teacher of English living in France began studying German so that she could take part in a German exchange programme. I had stayed with a German family and worked as a chambermaid in a German hotel. I wanted to communicate with the people in German. I caught the bug realizing the importance of exchanging of breaking down the barriers. I ended up studying German for four more years, one and a half through Erasmus in Germany and two and a half at the University of Aberdeen in conjunction with my degree in modern history. Getting the Right Answers to Your Legal Questions

By Morgan Hamilton Your life can suddenly become complicated if you encounter legal problems. You can seek help for your legal concerns from many different sources, but you need to be careful about the advice you receive. Some people turn to the Internet to find answers to legal questions. However, this can be a risky choice and you need to be careful choosing the sources of information youve acquired. Every legal issue has unique characteristics. There is no one-size-fits-all answer that will work for every legal complication. If you have some legal troubles, you can address your legal questions to online sites that are owned by law firms. This way you can acquire decent, if not vague, information about how to deal with your legal problems. There are also many articles on the World-Wide-Web that cover a number of legal issues. However, do not forget that these articles are meant to be used as guides and not as a course of action. If you try to act on your own behalf from an article you found in the Internet, you will probably find yourself in a worst situation. Your legal questions can also be answered by visiting a lawyer in person. This will probably be expensive, but it is the best and most reliable source of information available. If you have financial difficulty, you can benefit from the free consultation that some lawyers offer. Many people have a common misconception that lawyer are just out for money. There are some lawyers who are willing to take on small issues with law payout, just for the sake of helping poor people out. Another option that you should consider to get answers for your legal questions is by seeking help from prepaid legal services. These services often charge a small monthly pay in exchange for access to a law firm. Nonetheless, you should still be wary of prepaid services because the details are often as sophisticated as the legal questions that you need to be answered. There are some things that will not be covered by prepaid legal services, and it can be difficult to find a real person to talk to. These services will also often tell you that you need to pay more for their services. The paper work is confusing, and once they start to bill you every month for their service, it can be difficult to discontinue your agreement without going through a lot of hassles. It is important that you find reliable and effective answers for your legal questions. Finding straight facts about your situation can be expensive but knowing that you are on the right track will give you some peace of mind. Having peace of mind can be worth than anything you spend to have your legal questions answered. Morgan Hamilton offers expert advice and great tips regarding all aspects concerning Legal Questions. Becoming A Police Officer Just Became Easier

By Donna Moran As many law enforcement candidates can vouch for, taking the police entrance exam can be a stressful and highly competitive experience. I decided to research some preparation web sites and purchased several E-books on the topic to get a better understanding of what it takes to become a police officer. One thing that I quickly realized was that there were plenty of sources of material available for anyone seriously interested in a future in law enforcement. According to Augie Caamano, owner of PoliceQuiz.com, “Becoming a police officer has become extremely difficult due to the number of applicants applying these days.” Caamano also stated “I try to assist these candidates by walking them through written test step by step. My online practice exams, as well as the strategies provide the candidates with an edge that they would not have had before the course.” For a modest fee of $27 prospective candidates can take several practice exams, and read online tutorials which include various test-taking techniques for most parts of the exam. Caamano states that he helps candidates from all over the country and all size departments in preparing for the police officer entrance exam. “It doesn’t matter if your testing for a 1000 member department or 10. Most test all cover the same topics which include reading comprehension, math, situational judgment, visualization based questions, and memory retention.” I also found several e-books which can be purchased online, all of which state that they can increase your chances of getting a better score on the exam. I found several at Amazon.com by simply typing in “police test” in their search engine. Prices ranged from $17 to $35. They too appear to have practice exams and tips for improving your score, although some of the reading appears to be quite lengthy and dry. Scholarships not Working for You Neither, Huh?

By Vincent St. James We’re going to college, and we need cash. We have tuition and food, housing, books… like I said, we need cash. We hear about these billions of dollars of unclaimed scholarship money just floating around, yet you can’t seem to get your hands on any of it, nor on any other form of financial aid. We’re out here working like dogs, trying to make time to study an keep from losing our insanity, until we finally just give up. This sounds like a pretty big problem. What to do? First of all, you should know that there aren’t billions of dollars out there just waiting to fall in your lap. In fact most counselors and financial aid assitants wonder why this rather enormous figure is stated so often, but its not the case. So don’t feel bad or think you “suck” because you haven’t won some of this dough. However, there IS some money to be made out there that many people either overlook or figure it isnt worth pursuing. Trust me, its worth taking a look at and worth pursuing. Usual Suspects Your first destination should be the government. The FAFSA needs to be the first thing you do. You may be eligible for grants or other special awards. Then go to your school to see if they have any special scholarships that are only available to students of that college or university. After that, sign up to fastweb.com and scholarship.com and become familiar with those two sites, they are two of the most used on the web. There’s something for everyone! People commonly think that only minorities and people with really low incomes and awesome grades can get scholarships. This is just not so. There are plenty of scholarships out there that are aimed at people in certain national or local clubs, that serve different interests such as drawing, writing, or a sport, and even some that are strictly for those with work experience. Tons of scholarships for college students are aimed at specific majors and corresponding social networks, for example the Audio Engineering society and American Medical Association. Be creative when searching. There are plenty of companies giving money away in hopes of attaining a student base of prospective future employees. If you’re working on computers, for example, see what top technological companies such as Qualcomm and IBM have to offer, if you’re working in finance and economics, checkout some big time (and small time) Wall St. corporations, for instance. Also, don’t forget to checkout your own community. YMCA, churches, local youth groups and sports teams, they all give out money to deserving individuals, so do some homework on your hometown before moving on to bigger venues. The essay contest These are wonderful. Checkout what you like, what you know a lot about and are passionate about, and write an essay to submit to a contest or scholarship offer. Get friends in on it…help each other out and promise to share earnings. Why isn’t this EASY? Now, I don’t want to brag, but I won quite a few scholarships in my day. However, I remember always getting questions about “how do you do it,” “you’re so lucky,” and so on. Well, it really isn’t that complicated– its going to take some work and dedication. Start early, make a list of scholarships, plan for scholarship-work time, and get busy. Don’t feel bad when you don’t win, most students are happy to win a few because that’s usually what it takes. Just keep focused on what you’re trying to do, hope for the best, and do NOT stress out about it. Alternatives There are a few alternatives. Never resort to credit cards. Ever. What you want to look for are student loans because they have lower interest rates and usually have friendlier grace periods and payback periods. Don’t worry about being in student loan debt upon graduation…$10000-$15,000 is not bad at all (if being repaid in ten years). Stafford loans are the most common. They offer around $2600 for first-year, $3500 for second year and $5500 for third year students. Perkins loans usually don’t have to be repaid until nine months after graduation and you have 10 years to pay. Checkout private loans, maybe from loan-specialists companies and your own school. Checkout the American Education Society which also provides private loans for people. Don’t Stress It There is money to be made, just be focused, dont’t get discouraged, and work hard at it. Well, what are you waiting for? Vincent St. James is a writer and researcher for thecollegeguys.com, where you can find more of his work related to finance, health, and movies.
